나랑 같이 가는 거지? You’re going with me, right? 헤어지자고 하는 거지? You’re saying we should break up, right? They are often used together. 지 commonly conveys assumption, agreement or “checking” information with someone. *Like “Where on earth are you going” or “where exactly are you going?” or “where the hell are you going?” 이쪽으로 갈까? (Goes off in another direction.) 엥? 어디 가는 거야! 이리 와! Should we go in this direction? *goes off in another direction.* Eh? Where are you going? Yesterday, my boyfriend suddenly said we should break up! (let’s break up). But if this is big news, 사귀는 거야 is more likely to be used. So, if you don’t care, you might use 사귀고 있어. This sounds more surprised like “I’m telling you something!” Instead of “그 오빠랑 사귀고 있어” which just conveys the information a little more dryly. 그거 들었어? 소영이가 그 오빠랑 사귀는 거야! Did you hear that? Soyoung is dating that older guy! –>telling a story to someone (this is because you’re typically telling new or surprising information haha)

It’s basically a more emotional way to talk instead of giving just basic information or straight facts.Īnd, it’s used mostly in these situations: ㄴ/는 거야 or the polite ㄴ/는 거예요 is a sentence ending that can be used in the present or past with both verbs and adjectives. (The conjugation can be found easily on google!^^)

My best guess is that it’s the grammar 는 거예요/는 거야 plus the particle 지 (assumption, agreement etc). Hi there! I apologize again for the late response. It’ll definitely end up helping in the long run! But, they will all be difficult at first! Hang in there, and read things you enjoy. If you’re Korean is beginner or low-intermediate, 걸어서 30분 and 하나의 하루 might be a bit easier than the others. Sunday: 오늘도 사랑스럽개 - The love story of a woman who cursed to turn into a dog every night if she kisses a man. She suddenly starts turning into a werewolf. 늑대와 빨간모자 - This is a new webtoon, and I love it already. (according to my own tastes, not the quality of the work)įriday: 걸어서 30분 - The cute and innocent love story of two high school students. I started this because I liked the author’s previous work, but I think the story is getting better as I read it. Thursday Webtoon: 하나의 하루 - A story about werewolves being discriminated against in society. Yumi’s cells~ It’s really well done and funny. 유미의 세포들 - A story about the inner mind of a woman. It’s got a lot of slang and is really funny. Wednesday Webtoons: 연놈 - Another story about high school relationships, both romantic and platonic. It’s about this woman’s life as a webtoon artist under the worst boss ever. It’s a bit of a stereotypical love line with a good girl bad boy, but the art is really incredible. Tuesday webtoons: 악마와 계약연애 This is a relatively new webtoon that I’m trying. Monday webtoon: 소녀의 세계 – A story all about the relationships (mostly non-romantic) between a group of 4 female friends go through in high school. I wrote this in an earlier post, but here are the comics I am currently reading. Although, it did take about a year to make such an improvement. Going from understanding about 30 percent to over 90 percent of the same comic is an amazing feeling. It was great to see how much more I understood each time. I would read a comic and then read the same comic again after a few months. Read what you can, enjoy the art, and get a feel for the story. I do recommend not worrying too much about looking up all the words you don’t know at first or it might seem more like studying than enjoying the comic. I don’t know what genres you like, but I suggest just going to and browsing things that catch your attention. And I just tend to prefer Naver to Daum comics personally.

I recommend Naver comics because the ones that are currently being released are always free. Hello~ Thanks for the question!^^ I still read webtoons every day.
